Manuscripts and Rare Editions Room

Manuscript and Rare Editions Room is a reserved room and it's devoted to the study of manuscripts, antique printed books and rare modern books. Repertories, specialized journals and ground-breaking works for the study of codicology, palaeography, bibliology, manuscripts and rare printed materials are at disposal of the users.

Also Mondo Nuovo instrumentation, aimed at the reading of palimpsest documents, and hard reading texts are at disposal of the public.

To book the use of instrumentation is necessary to write to manoscritti@bnc.roma.sbn.it

Images will be saved and recorded on a CD-Rom that you buy at Reproduction Office.

The use of instrumentation is bound to disciplinary use.

The card catalogue of manuscripts bibliography, the autographs card catalogue, Duello Collection catalogue, volume manuscripts inventories and printed catalogues of some library's manuscripts are available in this room, too.

From computerized positions all the Internet web sites (of particular interest for users) can be consulted. The most considerable ones are D'Annunzio Collections ( electronic size archive of D'Annunzio Collections, owned by the library), MANUS (computerized catalogue of the manuscripts collections) and Susmel archive for Facism History (electronic size archive of Duilio Susmel's documents) and is possible to access to CD-ROMs databases.
