Cataloguing: what changes
After FRBR, and especially after technological changes in the last decades, it seems to be patent at the international catalographic community that Paris Principles need an update, regarding to terminology and concepts. Furthermore, cataloguing, based on an international level, feels the necessity of a common code or, at least, of a steady harmonization across the national ones. Also IFLA is doing the same: it organizes several international meetings, such as The First IFLA Meeting of experts on an international cataloguing code, which took place in Frankfurt from 28th to 30th July 2003.
The Seminar will analyse the consequences that all these developments are likely to have on catalographic activity.
